Whether you live on TikTok or are simply in touch with your spiritual side, you have probably heard of “divine feminine energy.” But, even if you have heard of it, you might still be wondering what it actually means.

Well, divine feminine and divine masculine energy exist in everything, including people. They are opposites that, in theory, are meant to balance out our world– much like the yin and yang.

They are not exclusive to gender, either. In fact, every person has a bit of both within them.

Still, more and more people feel as though masculine energy has been tipping the scales of our society– leading to increased aggression and domination. So, many people– both men and women– are now looking to tap into their divine feminine sides in hopes of embodying traits such as compassion, wisdom, acceptance, creativity, and gentleness.

Now, divine feminine energy is also associated with shakti– or the power of the feminine. Some people refer to this as “goddess energy,” and it can actually be unlocked by making intentional choices in our everyday lives.

Don’t worry– you do not have to adopt a whole new routine or throw out everything you already know about yourself. Instead, by paying attention to divine feminine energy, you can bring more awareness into your day-to-day flow and tap into benefits such as productivity, enhanced creativity, and imagination.

Here are a few simple and practical tips on how to get started.

Lead Your Day Softly & Gently

With time-consuming commutes, to-do lists, households to look after, and countless other responsibilities in your day-to-day, it is easy to become stressed out and essentially hardened.

You may notice that your shoulders are tight and your neck is strained while you stare at your work computer screen. Or maybe your tone is a bit more cutting with a coffee shop barista than you had anticipated.

But, if you practice mindfulness and approach your day with more gentleness, you will find that you are able to communicate better, engage in more collaboration, and feel more creative.

Sure, all of that sounds a lot easier said than done. But think about it: how does remaining tense help you or anyone around you?

Yes, it might take effort to be more self-aware and augment your typical behavior. However, it will definitely be worth it.

And one simple way to start making this change is by participating in a relaxation exercise every morning. Each day, before you get out of bed, tighten your shoulders, fists, and any other muscles in your body as hard as you can. While holding this tension, inhale through your nose for six seconds.

Then, slowly release all of your muscles and allow yourself to do a deep exhale. At that moment, imagine that all of the pent-up stress, frustration, and anger is leaving your body and, in its wake, is a much more calm, recalibrated, and peaceful center.

Finally, as you go about your day following this exercise, be sure to pay close attention to your behavior. How do you respond to a driver who cuts you off? What about a coworker who asks a question or your child who starts to whine?

Remember to speak from your heart and remain connected to your intuition. If you catch yourself coming off too brash or harsh, make an effort to soften your demeanor and tone.

Don’t Forget About Spontaneity

It is correct to assume that you have a lot going on in your day– whether that be work-related, family-oriented, or associated with other responsibilities.

Perhaps you own a small business and have to manage employees, write out purchase orders, liaise with clients, and conceptualize new marketing ideas. Or, maybe you are a mother who has carpools, laundry, dinner, and countless other household tasks to worry about.

It would be naive to suggest that whenever you are feeling spontaneous, you could just ditch your entire list of responsibilities and do absolutely anything you want. However, spontaneity does not have to be so black and white.

Instead, think of being spontaneous as being more “flexible,” and allow this flexibility to unlock your creative side.

For instance, suppose that you are a business owner, and one morning, you are feeling downright uninspired and cannot for the life of you think about any new marketing ideas. Instead of forcing yourself to do it anyway and possibly wasting your own time and damaging your mental health in the process, focus on something else.

Maybe handle something that is more detail-oriented, like managing your employees, for the time being. Or, get those purchase orders out of the way.

The point is that if you allow yourself to pivot and shift your schedule in accordance with your internal energy, your efforts will yield much better results.

Being able to free-flow is also linked with the divine feminine and can allow us to tap into our natural creativity when the time is best.

So, you can start by outlining a list of your top three priorities each day. Then, tackle them in any order that feels most natural to you at that moment.

If you feel creative in the morning, get your idea generation out of the way. Or, if you need time for your mind to wake up while you sip on a cup of joe, send some emails and wait to get creative until the afternoon.

Intuition Is Your Friend

Much like our day-to-day workflow, you should also rely on your intuition when fueling your body. Whether you visit Whole Foods or a farmer’s market, try to let your heart write your grocery list.

Of course, you may need some staples like eggs, milk, and bread. But, in terms of fruits and veggies, allow yourself to browse around and see what speaks to you.

You can also include spices such as black pepper, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cumin in your meals; or incorporate juicy raw fruits and coconut water into your diet for nourishment.

Acceptance Is Key

One of the most important things to know about divine feminine energy is that unconditional love and acceptance are a cornerstone. So, whenever you can, strive to see the light in all people, situations, and circumstances.

Of course, this is not always simple– especially in the face of heavy struggles and tragedies. But making a conscious effort to be accepting can take a lot of resentment and anger out of your life.

At the same token, try to refrain from being judgemental of others. This can actually increase levels of anxiety and stress and adversely impact our creativity. Instead, approach people with kindness and grace; you would want people to do the same for you.
