Her Boyfriend Made Her Pay For Her Own Birthday Dinner And Claimed He Couldn’t Afford To Buy Her A Gift, But Then Purchased Himself A New Game In Front Of Her On Their Drive Home

Plus, her entire family was back at her house waiting for her and her boyfriend, and they wanted to know what had been taking them so long.

And since she was feeling pretty embarrassed about the idea of telling everyone her boyfriend bought himself a game yet didn’t even buy her a gift, she decided to buy herself a $10 gift card.

Then, she forced her boyfriend to sign the gift card. That way, just in case her family asked, she would have something to show them.

She also claimed that while her boyfriend was buying his game, she tried to question him– bringing up how he had bills to pay and needed to save money.

She even asked him point blank if he really thought buying the game was the best idea.

Her boyfriend actually just got defensive, though, and accused her of trying to “mother him.” Then, he had the nerve to call her ungrateful!

“You’re so ungrateful for everything I do for you. I guess I’m not allowed to treat myself. Sorry you think I’m a horrible boyfriend,” her boyfriend told her.

Anyway, on the drive back to her family’s house, she really did not want to start an argument on her own birthday. So, she just decided to let the whole thing go, and she has not mentioned the incident ever since.

But she has not been able to stop thinking about it. She honestly doesn’t know if she is just not understanding his financial situation.

“And not being appreciative that he did anything at all because I know he is super stressed, and I don’t want to put any extra pressure on him or be too needy,” she admitted.

At the same time, though, the entire situation also made her feel really upset.
