“I don’t get why he’s spoiling you so much. This is too much. My husband never did this for me,” the woman said.
“Only spoiled and lazy people act like this. Plus, you have guests. Have some decorum; the PDA is gross.”
She was totally taken aback by that comment, too. Obviously, she was not lazy because she had been running around all morning while five months pregnant. On top of that, she had no clue what PDA the woman was talking about.
So, since she was already getting frustrated, she ended up snapping right back at the woman.
“Just because your husband didn’t spoil your bitter self doesn’t mean my husband can’t spoil my apparently ‘lazy’ self. Maybe you don’t deserve it,” she told the woman.
“And I’ve been busting my butt all morning, and you call me freaking lazy?”
After she said all of that, the woman immediately burst into tears and ran out of the room. And even though she was still fuming, her best friend gave her a look as if she had gone too far.
Now, she claimed that her other friends told her she was in the right. However, her best friend later revealed that the woman’s husband was never as invested in the woman’s pregnancy as he should have been. And that’s why her best friend told her that she should have just let the situation go.
So, ever since then, she’s been left wondering whether calling out the woman at the tea tasting was a really jerky move.
Can you understand why that woman might have felt jealous? At the same time, was it right for the woman to accuse her of being lazy and having “no decorum” in her own home? If you had been in her shoes, would you have snapped back also?
