This understandably made his girlfriend pretty uncomfortable, though, and she decided to call it a night shortly afterward.
But it was not until yesterday morning that the entire situation escalated. At that point, his girlfriend received a bunch of text messages from the guy– apologizing for what he said. After the apologies, though, his girlfriend’s guy friend then proceeded to “backpedal.”
“Saying he would treat her so much better than me and that she’s wasting her time with me,” he recalled.
Of course, his girlfriend wound up telling her guy friend “no” and just got pretty upset with him. Then, she revealed the entire situation and allowed him to read their text messages.
“Wow, who could’ve seen this coming?” was all he responded in a sarcastic tone.
His remark really just got under his girlfriend’s skin, though, and she ended up getting pretty mad at him. She claimed that he was being a really big jerk and that she had absolutely no way of seeing that coming from her guy friend.
So, his girlfriend has been furious with him ever since. And now, he’s been left wondering whether basically telling his girlfriend, “I told you so,” was the wrong way to handle the situation.
Do you agree with what he said about women being “a little slow” in recognizing when guys are into them? Was this the time and place to say, “I told you so?” Can you understand why his girlfriend is mad at him? What can he do to reconcile this situation?
