He Demanded That His Parents Uninvite His Ex-Wife And Her New Husband, Who Is His Ex-Best Friend, From Their Garden Party, Or Else He Would Not Attend
This 32-year-old man used to be married to his ex-wife, Elle– who is also 32. But, after four years of marriage, their relationship crashed and burned.
Apparently, he and Elle had been experiencing problems in their marriage for a decent amount of time. After she was diagnosed with a medical issue, he claimed she became impatient and testy.
At the same time, both he and his ex were constantly under pressure at work– taking on long hours. Yet, by the end, he actually preferred being at work more than being at home.
“I worked so many hours for us, and honestly, work was a better environment for me,” he recalled.
“I was happier, I didn’t feel criticized, and my coworkers actually liked me.”
But then, during one work party, things went too far. He detailed how after one celebration got “a little out of hand,” he kissed a coworker accidentally.
Now, he claimed to have immediately realized that the kiss was a mistake. So, he pulled back from his coworker after the kiss– which he swore was just half a second long.
Nonetheless, a different coworker wound up telling his wife at the time. And after Elle found out, she kicked him out of the house “with no warning” before filing for separation.
But, he revealed how his ex-wife had not been innocent, either. Apparently, she had been having an emotional affair with his best friend, Silas, behind his back.

Elle continues to deny that ever happened. However, he believes she was just looking for a reason to divorce him so she could start a relationship with Silas.
He is sure of this because right after his “one little mistake,” he was thrown out of his house. Plus, Elle reportedly “poisoned” his relationship with his parents before moving in with Silas just a few months later.
Elle and Silas even wound up getting married, too. And now, three years later, they have a one-year-old baby together.
That’s why, when his parents were discussing their annual garden party last week, and he found out Elle and Silas were invited, there was some serious drama.
Apparently, his parents and his ex-wife’s parents were family friends for a very long time. And after he and Elle got a divorce, their parents remained close. Every year, his parents also host a garden party.
“Which is just an excuse for them to catch up and gossip with other seniors,” he said.
After he went to visit his parents, though, they informed him that Elle and Silas would be in town the day of the party. So, his parents actually invited his ex-wife and his ex-best friend because they really wanted to meet Elle’s baby.
At that point, he was completely caught off guard and told his parents that Elle and Silas could not go.
But, his parents refused to budge– claiming that they would never be rude enough to take back the invitation after Elle and Silas had already agreed to attend.
“So I said no one wants their ex-wife at their parent’s party,” he explained.
Still, his parents just told him that he could manage to be polite for just one day. After all, his parents really just wanted to catch up with Elle and Silas and see their baby.
Quite frankly, though, he didn’t really care about that. So, he decided to give his parents an ultimatum– either he attended, or Elle and Silas did.
But his parents didn’t appreciate that and ended up just calling him a jerk for trying to make them choose. His parents also claimed that if they opted to have him attend instead of Elle and Silas, it might make Elle’s parents think badly of them.
So, he essentially put his parents in a very uncomfortable situation. And now, he’s been left wondering whether demanding that they uninvite Elle and Silas from the garden party was the wrong thing to do.
Even if his kiss with his coworker was “accidental,” did he still cheat on his wife? Do you believe that his ex-wife had an emotional affair with Silas? Regardless, since he chose to marry the daughter of family friends, aren’t his parents still allowed to keep their relationship with Elle and Elle’s parents? How would you feel in this situation?
