Throughout this time, though, she still assumed her boyfriend had the money tucked away somewhere.
But that was until just last month– when she found a tax receipt and realized her boyfriend had donated all of the money to the American Cancer Society.
Don’t get me wrong– she knows it is a very good cause. However, at the end of the day, the donation just did not help them out at all.
So, after finding that receipt, she was beyond angry about the fact that she has been left footing the bill for their life while her boyfriend gets to feel noble.
That’s why she recently told her boyfriend that from now on, he has to start pulling his weight by paying for half of their rent and food.
“I’m no longer subsidizing him,” she vented.
They have since had numerous fights about this, though, because she has started sticking to her word.
For instance, she will only buy enough food for herself– leaving her boyfriend to arrive home and find nothing to eat.
Still, her boyfriend thinks this is all her fault and accuses her of being selfish. He also claims that since she makes more money, she should be paying for more of their living expenses.
“But he got a lot of money, so why doesn’t he pay for more things?” she asked.
“Even his mother, who wasn’t great to him, called and begged him to keep the money rather than donate it.”
