Now, after Sarah made that comment, her brother-in-law decided to tell his wife off– revealing how she had actually gone to the same university as Sarah.
Plus, her brother-in-law even pointed out how she earned more degrees than her sister-in-law! At first, Sarah really believed he was just joking, too. So, her sister-in-law just started to laugh before she chimed in and confirmed it was true.
That immediately got Sarah to be quiet. But then, her sister-in-law proceeded to accuse her of being a traitor, a sell-out, and even a misandrist for “wasting” her potential and “allowing” herself to stay locked up at home.
By that point, she was done with the conversation and decided to just take her kids and leave the gathering– because, quite frankly, she did not want to get involved in her brother-in-law and Sarah’s argument.
Despite that, though, Sarah has continued blowing up her phone ever since and claiming that she messed up by keeping her educational history a secret. On top of that, she got told that she should’ve had Sarah’s back in the fight against her brother-in-law. And finally, Sarah believes she is just wasting her life right now by being a stay-at-home mom.
“I really didn’t think it was so deep,” she vented. “I mean, she’s not my employer, so why does she need my CV?”
Nevertheless, with Sarah still upset with her, she’s been left wondering whether not telling her sister-in-law about her educational background actually made her a jerk or not.
Why do you think Sarah cares about the fact that she pursued higher education too? Does it seem like her sister-in-law has some other insecurities or jealousy that are being projected? Is she required to share her educational history with everybody? What would you do in this situation?
