Giftcards

“Well, a week later, we had a garage sale, and no surprise, the gifts I got my family were on sale. I was so annoyed they did that.”

Still hurt over last year’s garage sale, she decided she’d do things differently for the next Christmas. The following year, she decided to give everyone except her niece and nephew a gift card.

She figured it would be an easier way to give her family members a gift without wasting so many hours shopping for something personal.

Still, her family was upset about opening gift cards and asked why she didn’t buy any “proper gifts.”

When she told them about how she was still upset over the garage sale, they called her selfish and cheap. Unfortunately, her family was angry with her for the duration of the holiday season.

Was she being selfish for buying gift cards, or did she do the right thing considering what her family did with their gifts last year?
