He recently planned a vacation for them for the start of the summer, and they agreed to split the cost of hotels, dinners, and a rental car. However, just a few days ago, her ex-husband called and told her he needed help paying his rent and getting his car out of impound.
Without their car, her son hasn’t been able to get to work and doesn’t want to use alternative modes of transportation. So, she paid her ex $5,000 and didn’t have enough money to pay for the vacation.
He decided to cancel the trip since she couldn’t pay her share of the expenses.
When he told his wife, she was furious and called him heartless. She told him she was caring for her son, and they’ve been arguing ever since.
He believes that her ex-husband and son are able-bodied adults who need to make better decisions.
“Her always digging them out of their hole is starting to impact our lives more and more, and I didn’t sign up for that,” he added.
Was he being heartless for canceling their vacation?
