As time passed, they told her mom she could only stay with them if she continued to search for an apartment actively.
Now, her mom’s house has officially been sold, and she only has until the end of this May to move out. Yet, she still hasn’t found an apartment.
“She is making a ton of excuses why she won’t look for another place,” she said.
One of the reasons her mom says she hasn’t been more committed to finding a place of her own is because her house is where she feels safe. She knew she needed to set some firm boundaries with her mom, so she talked with her and laid down the law.
“We told her she cannot live with us unless we help her find an apartment to live [in] that is available right now or very soon,” she recalled.
“She said she would rather live in her car with her cat and shower at a gym than find another place to live.”
Then, her mother strangely told her that her father was “smiling down on her” before unfriending her on Facebook and not contacting her.
Was she being too harsh with her mom, or was she right to set some boundaries?
