Jen just did not understand his perspective, though, and argued that she wasn’t the kind of person to take advantage of him. Plus, she even had the nerve to say that he would never find another partner before hanging up on the phone with him!
Now, he did forgive the friend who told Jen about the trip– because apparently, his friend thought Jen knew about his finances already.
And after he told his friends what happened with his ex-girlfriend on the phone, they all claimed that Jen was clearly a gold digger. Nonetheless, he has started to have second thoughts about his lies.
“I question myself whether or not keeping my high income and flight benefits secret was the right thing to do,” he vented.
So now, he’s been left wondering whether he should just be honest about his finances the next time he enters a future relationship.
Can you understand why he wanted to conceal his wealth, given what happened with his past partners? Why do you think his ex-girlfriend felt the need to call him up after finding out about the Japan trip? Didn’t she basically admit to being a gold digger by saying she would’ve stayed with him if she knew about his finances? Did he do the right thing by keeping it a secret?
