“She made it clear that she would never date someone who doesn’t pay for her when we’re out together.”
“Personally, I don’t understand the severity of the reaction. It’s really not that deep, and I don’t feel like the situation required me to step in. I would understand if we were at a restaurant and I left her to cover the bill, but her meal was worth no more than $18, and the moment was not awkward for anybody but her.”
