“I think I was dreading it because all of my friends that were going,” Lola explains. “[They] were like so excited they were all going to get ice cream together, and me, I had to go on a date and not get ice cream with my friends, and I was really sad!
On the night of the date, Lola drives herself while her friends drive separately and follow her to the ice cream place. Lola decides to sport a denim-on-denim look, which is typically out of her comfort zone, but that night she thought that it looked cute.
She meets up with her date in the parking lot, and right off the bat, Lola feels weird. The guy stares at her, looks her up and down, and in a serious tone, tells her that he was going to wear that, referring to Lola’s outfit.
“I like didn’t know if I was supposed to laugh or something,” Lola says, “…It was just so weird!”
Unfortunately, the date didn’t get any better for Lola. She was having a pretty horrible time, and all the while, she could see her friends having fun without her in the same ice cream place.
She definitely wished she could just go and hang out with them and was probably wishing she had not been the one who had gotten the first match!
“It’s like a funny story. My friends had a lot more fun than I did,” Lola says, “and I kept looking over at their table, and it was like they were laughing and having so much fun, and I was like bored out of my mind.”
