“They had been screaming– loudly– at each other for everyone in the Toronto airport to hear. It was embarrassing,” she said.
Before she knew it, her father was also flirting with yet another woman right in front of his wife. Suddenly, she then saw a text from her mom advising her to break up with a boy if he ever treated her wrong, claiming that she does not have the same options within her marriage.
Her mother also shared how she was hurt by the fact that her husband was having another conversation with another woman and had only been rude and demanding toward her the entire day.
And again, her mom claimed that she has no option but to stay with him, clearly feeling stuck. This text from her mother was her final straw! After such an incredibly long day, she couldn’t take it anymore.
She started to yell at both of her parents and told them they needed to stop acting so childish in front of their daughters, that she was tired of being their collateral every time they argued, and that they needed to go to therapy or get divorced already.
After this, her parents became upset that she chose to embarrass them in front of the entire airport, but they clearly were already creating a scene themselves.
“They’ve both been laying into me for embarrassing and disrespecting them since the incident, and I don’t know. Maybe they need to get embarrassed in an airport. This [stuff] can’t be normal,” she added.
Do you think it was disrespectful for her to call her parents out like this, or do you think they deserved to hear it?
