About three years ago, this 29-year-old woman was excitedly preparing for her wedding with her ex-fiancé.

They had a venue booked, a honeymoon booked and paid for in full, and all of their entertainment sorted out. She and her fiancé had also paid for her wedding gown, the bridesmaids’ dresses, the groomsmen’s tuxedos, and the catering.

“Everything was sorted. I was ready to marry the love of my life,” she recalled.

Yet, just two weeks before she was set to tie the knot, her ex-fiancé called off the wedding. He barely gave her any explanation and simply cut off contact with her.

So, she was obviously both extremely confused and incredibly heartbroken.

Yet, just a couple of weeks later, she found out what had really happened.

While on Facebook, she discovered that her own 24-year-old sister had gone with her ex-fiancé on the trip that she had booked for her honeymoon!

And after that, she learned that her sister and her ex-fiancé had actually been sneaking around behind her back for nine whole months leading up to the wedding.

So, once she found out about the affair, she cut her sister off. At the same time, her sister stayed with her ex-fiancé, and their relationship only lasted six months before he left her sister.

Still, the only real contact she has kept with her sister is through their mother. And now, that’s kind of becoming a problem.

Eight months ago, she was proposed to by her new 31-year-old fiancé after dating for a year. And about two months ago, she started writing and sending out the invitations to her wedding– which took her a couple of weeks in total.

But, not long afterward, she began to receive RSVPs via text, phone, and email. Then, her mother reached out and asked why her sister had not yet received an invitation.

“Which was mind-boggling since my mother, of all people, would surely understand,” she said.

Regardless, her sister has begun begging for her forgiveness and keeps insisting that she needs to let what happened in the past go. Plus, her sister is using their siblinghood to try and guilt-trip her into not letting this “childish feud” ruin their relationship.

Still, that really doesn’t matter to her. She isn’t just resentful that her sister had an affair with her ex-fiancé.

“But the fact that my sister betrayed my trust and let me rant and open up to her about things that were going on in my relationship while she was practically stabbing me in the back,” she vented.

So now, while she isn’t quite sure where her family stands in the whole situation, she’s been left wondering whether not inviting her sister to the wedding would make her a jerk.

Would you want your sibling at your second wedding if they stole your first fiancé? Do you think not wanting her sister at her wedding is completely understandable? How should she handle this?
