“She was outraged, said I was undermining her and Tom’s parenting, and it isn’t my utilities Ed is using,” he said.
Since Tom is such a new person in Louise and Ed’s life, he is probably confused as to why Tom has such a strong say about what his son should be doing in the first place. He likely wonders why he wasn’t consulted in this matter or part of the conversation. Nonetheless, he doesn’t regret paying the rent for Ed.
“I don’t think I am undermining her parenting because Ed’s rent is being paid, just not by him. I have never tried to convince them not to charge him rent. I just decided to pay instead,” he added.
Do you think that he crossed a line by paying Ed’s rent, or do you think that Louise and Tom should have never charged it in the first place?
