This 31-year-old woman’s sister, 28, has two biological children who are twins. The children are 11 years old, a boy and a girl.

However, she has been the one caring for her sister’s kids for their entire lives, as her sister got pregnant at 17 and insisted on keeping her children.

“She underestimated how hard kids were and gave up,” she explained. “Since the second she brought them home, my parents and I did all the work, apart from feeding (which she would often refuse to do as she was tired).”

“A little after the twins were born, we found out that my mom had early-onset Alzheimer’s, so I had to take on more responsibility with the twins.”

One year later, she graduated from college and became the main caregiver for both her sister’s children and her mom. She had her own business and was able to work from home.

Down the road, she legally adopted the twins. Her sister signed over the legal rights without any arguing and seemed fine with it. Her income, combined with her father’s, allowed the family to feel financially comfortable.

A couple of years after that, she and her then-boyfriend, whom she had been dating for several years, got married.

Her husband knew that she had legally adopted the twins, and he was kind and accepting of them in his life.

Then, she and her husband talked about how they wanted to grow their family, and they decided to start trying to have children after broaching the subject with the twins.

When the twins were 8-years-old, her daughter was born, and all of them had a beautiful bond and loving relationship with one another.

After she and her husband got married, they were both living with her parents and sister so that she could take care of her mother.

Unfortunately, her sister didn’t do anything to help, so it was necessary for her to be living with her mother at the time.

“Now, we have decided to put my mom into a care home, as it has become too much on my family and me. My husband and I decided to finally move out to around one hour away,” she said.

She and her husband decided to extend their search for a house to an hour away because housing in her parents’ area was too expensive.

Once they came to this decision, her sister was upset and started to say she wanted the twins back.

“She first asked to move in with us, but she has severe anger issues, which she refuses to get help for, and as much as I love her, my kids come first,” she shared.

“I will let her visit; however, I’m not having her live with us as she is too unpredictable. And while she hasn’t hurt my kids, she has lashed out at them.”

While she has no issue with her sister visiting the twins, she doesn’t want her sister to live with the family.

One of the main reasons she doesn’t want her sister living with them is that she doesn’t have a job, so it seems like her sister just wants to move in with them so that she has others to provide for her.

Her sister has been used to living in a converted garage in their parents’ garden, and while she kept to herself, she didn’t live on her own necessarily.

As tensions rose, her sister said that since she now had a daughter of her own, she should give the twins back to her.

She told her sister that the twins were legally hers because of the adoption. The twins understand that their biological mother is her sister, but they seem to view her sister as more of an aunt figure, just like her daughter does.

Then, her sister attempted legal action against her. But it hasn’t been successful since she signed over her parental rights, without a fight and without plans to gain back any rights in the future.

Her sister has caused even more drama by trying to get other family members involved. Most of their aunts and uncles are on her sister’s side and have said that she’s been essentially a babysitter to children who aren’t even hers.

Do you think she is in the right to refuse to give her sister her kids back and not allow her sister to move in?
