She’s Not Allowing Her Niece To Help Out In Her Bakery Anymore Because The Tween Made Running Her Business Much More Difficult, But Now Her Family Is Accusing Her of Breaking The Girl’s Heart

This 35-year-old woman currently owns a small bakery, and she is extremely proud of what she’s accomplished. She does most of the work at the bakery, while she also has two employees who work on a part-time basis.
But, at the beginning of the summer, she was approached by her sister-in-law– who asked if she would allow her 11-year-old niece to help out around the bakery over the break from school.
“My niece has been getting really into baking and loves watching content creators baking and was apparently just dying to be able to job shadow and help out in a bakery,” she said.
So, despite her hesitations, she agreed to let her niece work with her. However, she instantly hated the arrangement and wished she never said yes.
She claimed that her niece could not have been more unhelpful. Her employees didn’t like having her niece there, and she really didn’t either.
That’s why, throughout the entire summer, her staff of three (including herself) was extremely grumpy. And while she thought her niece would eventually improve, that never happened.
“Every single minute that my niece spent in my bakery this summer was the only time I’ve ever had any regrets about opening my business,” she admitted.
After her niece finally went back to school last week, she has never felt more relieved, either. She admitted how, throughout the summer, she thought about talking to her sister-in-law on numerous occasions and putting her foot down about her niece coming back to the bakery.
However, since she had agreed and made the promise, she followed through on her word.

Well, that was until her sister-in-law stopped by her house to drop something off yesterday, which changed everything.
While there, her sister-in-law started talking about how her niece had loved being in the bakery this summer.
Then, her sister-in-law claimed her niece wanted to know if she could go back to the bakery for a couple of Saturdays each month.
At that point, she decided to just be honest with her sister-in-law.
“I told my sister-in-law that, unfortunately, that wasn’t going to work out and that going forward, I didn’t think it was a good idea for my niece to help out,” she recalled.
“I told her it just wasn’t productive for us.”
If you could not have guessed, her sister-in-law was not happy about that and reiterated how her niece had a great time at the bakery and was looking forward to continuing to help out there.
So, she was forced to apologize but point out how she had a business to run. In order to do that successfully, her niece couldn’t be there.
Anyway, this discussion wound up turning into a screaming match that her husband was forced to break up.
Since then, both her sister-in-law and mother-in-law have been texting her– accusing her of “breaking a little girl’s heart.”
On top of that, her niece also called her husband and shared how she was extremely upset. Thankfully, though, her husband understood her perspective on the situation and stood by her decision.
Still, with many of her in-laws now up in arms, she’s been left wondering whether refusing to let her niece help out in her bakery anymore really made her a jerk or not.
Can you understand why having a young tween in the bakery is more stressful than helpful? Does it make sense why she wants to prioritize her business, which is her livelihood? How would you have handled this situation?
