He Gifted His Son A High-End Sports Car To Celebrate His Son Earning A Ph.D., But His Son’s Husband Accused Him Of Being Insensitive And Flaunting His Wealth

Ever since he did that, though, Luke and Luke’s family have accused him of being a jerk for “being insensitive” and “flaunting his wealth.” And this has pushed him to question whether getting his son such an expensive gift was actually the wrong thing to do.

He really just wanted to celebrate Jake’s academic achievement and show his son how proud he was.

“But I’m open to reassessing my actions and understanding if I should have taken Luke’s perspective into more consideration,” he admitted.

So now, he is wondering whether giving his son an expensive present– even though his son-in-law didn’t want him to– really did make him a jerk or not.

Did the fact that he gifted his son a nice present impact Luke or Luke’s family? Did he have a right to celebrate his son’s achievement however he saw fit? What would you have done if you were in his shoes?
