Her husband also thought she would like the fossil fish, which she claimed she does.
However, she obviously can’t wear the fish, and she can’t help but feel disappointed with her husband’s present.
She realizes that he “did his best” and gave her a gift, with love, which she does appreciate. And she knows it’s a really great fossil fish.
“So I do not want him to think he [messed] up in buying me the fish because it’s a really nice thing to have,” she vented.
But, she does still want to go out and buy herself the “expensive-ish” gold necklace that she actually wanted as a sort of “consolation prize” for turning 50.
Before she goes ahead and does that, though, she’s not sure if buying her own birthday gift would just hurt her husband’s feelings and be a jerky thing to do.
Does it sound like she still appreciated her husband’s present? Nonetheless, can you understand why she’s upset that she didn’t get what she asked for? Should she just treat herself and buy herself the necklace, too? What would you do?
