This woman and her husband were in a relationship for 11 years before getting married.

They began dating when she was 17-years-old and he was 20.

When she was 12, she met the girl who became her best friend. The two of them have a close bond to this day and speak almost every day.

“When I was dating my husband, there were several times I suspected something going on, and it actually caused a rift between my friend and me. They would both tell me I was being jealous or ‘crazy,’ and they were best friends,” she said.

During this time, her friend was dating her now-husband’s brother. Her boyfriend assured her that he would never be romantically involved with someone that his brother had hooked up with or been in a relationship with.

Deep down, the entire time, she had the belief that her friend and her then-boyfriend weren’t being completely honest with her.

Later on, she ended the friendship because of this, as well as her friend’s concerning actions toward others in their friend group.

“She did change over the years. We repaired our friendship based on those changes and have remained very close over the last 13 years. She is like a sister to me. We even have a ‘girls’ night’ often, spending the night at her house or one of our other friends’ homes. My husband and I have been married for 17 years, and things have been pretty good,” she explained.

A few days ago, she and her husband were opening up about times from their pasts.

During their discussion, her husband told her about another friend from her childhood who had asked him to hook up with her.

Then, he mentioned yet another friend from when she was growing up had asked him the same thing.

She was stunned to hear all of this information that he’d kept hidden from her for years.

“I told him it was in the past, but I couldn’t believe they did that to me. He says he didn’t do anything with either of them. I then asked about the friend in question and told him I knew about some things because she tried to tell me. He then admits they kissed. I knew there was more, so I asked her about it. I told her he confessed to hooking up with her, and she admitted to hooking up with him at random times over the course of our relationship,” she shared.

During the conversation, her friend assured her that this all went on prior to when she and her husband got married.

Understandably, this news devastated her.

Despite her friend calling what happened “a mistake,” she is shocked that the two people who she’d been closest to betrayed her like this.

In her view, a “mistake” is something that happens only one time.

When she confronted her husband and told him that she knew the truth, he told her that his cheating was irrelevant because it was prior to when she married him, and it was so many years ago.

But even though the cheating situation is an old situation long in the past for him, it’s brand-new information for her.

She knows she would have never gotten married to him if she’d known about him cheating on her with her best friend.

From her perspective, her best friend and then-boyfriend were gaslighting her all those years, calling her “jealous” and “crazy” for her suspicions that they were hooking up with each other and lying to her face about it.

Rather than telling her he was sorry for his past infidelity and feeling remorse for what he’d done, he’s angry that she’s making a big deal about it in the first place.

On the other hand, her friend has been extremely remorseful and apologetic, open to providing as much information as she needs.

Her friend has been pleading for her to forgive her even though she doesn’t feel she deserves to be forgiven.

According to her friend, she was terrified to confess about the cheating because she knew that their friendship would be over as a result. Her friend said that she felt awful keeping it a secret.

She thinks she would maybe feel less hurt if her husband had cheated with someone who wasn’t her best friend at the time.

However, she’s crushed knowing that they were hooking up and hiding it from her for years.

It feels like a stab in the back because she’s been having girls’ nights and sleeping over at her friend’s house, opening up about her personal life when her friend had betrayed her in one of the worst ways possible.

“I feel like I looked stupid and like I’m a big joke,” she continued.

Later, she left the house to stay at a hotel, and her husband still hadn’t said he was sorry for cheating on her for years before getting married. He wants her to move on, has told her he loves her and wants her to return home.

Her husband claimed he was no longer the person he was back then, but she never realized he’d been a cheater to begin with. In her view, the entire foundation of their marriage was based on a lie because she never knew who he truly was.

She and her husband have two children together, and their youngest child is 12-years-old.

Her husband told her it would be ridiculous for her to divorce over a situation that happened prior to their marriage. But she knew that he wouldn’t feel the same way if the tables were turned.

Now, she’s going to think about everything on her own before she decides what to do next.

What would you do if you were in her shoes?
