She Reported Her Neighbors To The HOA Because Their Dogs Are Outside Barking From The Crack Of Dawn Until 10:00 P.M. Each Night

The community that this woman lives in has a homeowner’s association.
The HOA has rules about what color residents can paint their houses, what kind of plants they can have, how they have to care for their lawns, as well as rules related to pet ownership.
Prior to closing on a house, the buyer has to affirm that they have read the HOA’s rules and will follow them.
“Approximately three months ago, some new folks moved into the house across the back. They have four kids under the age of 12 and five dogs. The kids are fine, except for the occasional throwing of sticks at the birds,” she said.
However, she has a problem with her neighbors’ dogs.
She loves dogs and even has a dog herself.
At the farm her family owns in upstate New York, they have a ton of dogs who were abandoned, and her family chose to take them in.
In her family’s view, after you already have three or four dogs on the farm, adding more doesn’t feel like a big deal.
“They are all vetted and well taken care of, and a lot are adopted from the farm by our boarders,” she explained.

Her problem with her neighbors’ dogs is the incessant barking. The neighbors let their dogs out onto the porch on their own and allow them to bark all the time.
“They start at 6 a.m. and it goes, on and off, until 10 p.m. I can’t go out into my yard without setting them off. None of the neighbors can do yard work without setting them off. They don’t have a fenced yard, and since I am on a corner lot, I am not allowed to fence my yard,” she shared.
Her neighbors don’t take their dogs on proper walks, either. Instead, they put their dogs on leashes and allow them to use the bathroom in their yard.
Unfortunately, her neighbors’ yard shares the boundary of their community’s common area and pond.
So, her neighbors walk their dogs to the pond, allow them to go to the bathroom there, and almost never clean up after their dogs. She’s only witnessed them do so on one occasion.
According to their HOA’s rules, a household can only own two pets. She talked with some of her neighbors who have also been struggling to cope with the constant barking over the last three months, and she ended up reporting the neighbors with the barking dogs to their HOA.
Afterward, the HOA sent notices in regard to the barking dogs, with a reminder to comply with the rule about only two pets per household.
What would you have done if you were in her shoes?
