He Left His Girlfriend After She Hooked Up With Her Ex At A Wedding, And He Only Found Out Because The Groom Called Him
This man had been in a relationship with his now ex-girlfriend for about two months, and they were both in their mid-20s. His ex’s friend got married recently, and they were both invited to the wedding. He wasn’t thrilled to attend since he dislikes weddings and thinks they’re cheesy.
“However, I really turned against the idea of going after it was brought to my attention that one of the guys who she used to sleep with was going to be there. After I told her my concerns, she basically blew me off by being dismissive,” he said.
His then-girlfriend accused him of being unreasonable and childish, and, in her opinion, he was unfairly judging her. She told him that her previous relationships were irrelevant to her relationship with him now, adding that she didn’t have feelings for her ex attending the wedding.
In response, he argued that she wasn’t considering his feelings. From his perspective, being at the same wedding as a man who used to hook up with her would be incredibly uncomfortable. However, she doubled down that he was self-conscious and trying to control what she did.
At first, he debated on going with her to the wedding, even though he didn’t enjoy weddings. But after his ex-girlfriend brushed his worries aside, he decided not to go.
He said she would have to ask someone else to accompany her or attend the wedding by herself. In his mind, they both could have a good night this way since his ex could hang out with her friends at the wedding while he could have a relaxing night to himself.
If his ex-girlfriend betrayed their relationship during the wedding, it would affirm his worries and clarify that he should break up with her. Later, he called the groom and told him he couldn’t come to the wedding, and he told him why.
The groom accepted his reasoning and appreciated that he told him ahead of time. His ex went to the wedding, and they had no issues after that. Unfortunately, he eventually discovered she hooked up with her ex-boyfriend at the wedding.
“The groom called me and told me he thought I should know. He told me that they sat by each other, giggled, laughed, slow danced together, and even left the event for a brief time before returning,” he explained.

He was appreciative of the groom telling him the truth, and he confronted his ex-girlfriend right away, letting her know that he found out she’d cheated on him. She attempted to lie and pretended she had no clue what he was on about.
Then, he said that the groom spilled the beans, and she broke down and was finally honest. His ex claimed she was angry that he didn’t attend the wedding, forcing her to go alone, so she wanted revenge. She confirmed that she slept with her ex, and she apologized.
“She said she just wanted to get back at me for making her feel alone and that he filled a void that night,” he shared.
He countered that regardless of why she did it, having an affair was unacceptable, adding that he would never find it in his heart to forgive her or respect her again. At the end of their discussion, he officially broke up with her.
