She Went On A Date With A Guy Who Said He Was Going To The Bathroom, But He Ditched Her Without Paying

There’s nothing more discouraging than when the new year starts off on a bad note. All you can do is hope that the negative experience doesn’t set the tone for the rest of the year.
TikToker Annie (@anniebadlose) is from Seattle, Washington, and she’s discussing the nightmare of a date she went on with a guy, listing all the red flags that popped up during their brief time together.
For her very first date in 2024, she had plans to meet up at a restaurant with a guy she had been talking to on a dating app. He was formerly in the Navy and is currently a therapist. They had been texting for a week or two at that point.
On the day of the date, she got into her car to drive to the restaurant but found that it wouldn’t start. When she tried to order a ride, she realized that it cost $60. She texted him to let him know that her car battery was dead, so she wouldn’t be able to make it, and he offered to pick her up.
Annie usually doesn’t let men pick her up, but in this case, she also needed someone to help her jump-start her car.
When he came to pick her up, everything seemed normal, albeit slightly awkward, since they were meeting for the first time in his car.
But while they were conversing in the car, she noticed that he seemed a little off. He kept making jokes about his likes and dislikes, which she didn’t get because she didn’t know him very well yet.
During the car ride, he also thanked her for trusting him to pick her up since he could’ve been a serial killer.
She then made a comment about how she was more likely to be a serial killer than he was. Suddenly, the joke wasn’t funny to him anymore, and he got super offended for some reason.

He was also wearing a short-sleeved shirt even though it was only 20 degrees out. When they got to the parking garage, he stepped out of his car without a jacket.
Annie asked him if he had a jacket, and he responded that he didn’t get cold. In the elevator, he pointed out that she was wearing boots and didn’t seem too happy about it.
At the restaurant, she thought they would be getting dinner, but it turned out that he just wanted to get drinks.
They continued chatting, and the more they talked, the more she realized that they really weren’t clicking. That was also when the biggest red flags were raised.
While they were sipping on their drinks, he revealed that he went to a Taylor Swift concert alone. But when he said he also wanted to go to Olivia Rodrigo and Tate McRae concerts by himself, Annie thought it was a little odd for a grown man to be going to so many places that young girls were known to be at. Finally, he dropped the news that he was planning on attending a particular comedian’s show.
They started arguing about an inflammatory joke the comedian had made. After a bit of back and forth, she tried to change the subject, asking why he and his ex-girlfriend broke up.
He explained that his ex had made everything about herself. Then, he brought up the topic of the comedian again. Annie turned her attention to the football game on the screen.
That was when he excused himself to the bathroom and never returned to their date, leaving her stranded there. So not only did he ditch her knowing that she had no way of getting home, but he also did not pay for his drink.
After he had been gone for five minutes, she got the feeling he wasn’t making a reappearance. When the bartender asked if her date would like another drink, Annie told her that she didn’t know if her date was coming back.
The bartender was appalled and did not make Annie pay for his drink. Annie even ended up meeting two girls and hanging out with them for the rest of the night, so at least there was a happy ending!
