It’s no secret that most people nowadays turn to online dating in hopes of finding a potential partner, and this man is no different.

He recently decided to dip his toe into the virtual dating pool by swiping on a dating app, and while on the platform, he met a woman he was actually interested in.

It didn’t take long to realize that they lived pretty close to each other.

“And we connected pretty easily,” he recalled.

He also learned that she had two young children. While some people might care about that detail, though, he actually didn’t mind at all.

So, they both decided to meet up and for their first date, he planned to have a little movie night at his house.

But, when the night actually arrived, he was pretty caught off guard because the woman had actually shown up with her infant, who was just 4-months-old.

At that point, his date tried to explain herself, detailing how she just wasn’t able to get a babysitter for her infant. Meanwhile, her other child was hanging out at one of her friend’s homes.

While he understood the circumstances, though, he thought it was weird that his date didn’t even give him a heads-up about the fact that she was bringing her baby. Instead, she just showed up with the infant.

“That kinda rubbed me the wrong way…” he admitted.

“You don’t even know me, and you decided to bring your child to my place?”

Since he felt so uncomfortable with the baby being at his house, he even decided to end their date early, too. But he wasn’t totally upfront about the reason why.

More specifically, after talking to the woman for a little while, he just decided to tell her that he needed to leave and check on his mother– who had “recently had surgery.”

And now, in the wake of his movie night gone wrong, he can’t help but wonder if he was really a jerk for bailing like that.

“Or does anyone else find it insane that she did this?” he asked.

Do you agree that it’s weird to bring an infant on a first date, especially without informing the other person first? Did he have a right to bail on the date or not? How would you have handled this situation in his shoes?
