This 28-year-old man and Sarah, 28, have been friends for more than 10 years. They’ve been by each other’s sides through all of life’s ups and downs.

Not long ago, Sarah and her partner, whom she’d been dating for a long time, got engaged, and he was so happy for them.

Unfortunately, tension arose when Sarah suddenly changed her wedding ceremony plans.

“Originally, Sarah had planned a small, intimate ceremony with close friends and family. I was honored to be invited and had made arrangements to attend,” he said.

However, only several weeks before Sarah’s wedding, she called him and said that she instead planned to have a destination wedding at a tropical location.

Even though he acknowledged that since it was Sarah’s wedding, she had the right to change her plans, he was upset and irritated by the drastic change.

“Not only does it mean extra expenses for travel and accommodation, but it also conflicts with some important commitments I have around that time,” he explained.

During the phone call, he told Sarah that it would be difficult for him to attend a destination wedding, but she minimized his worries, gushing about how a destination wedding was her dream and that she wanted him to be able to come.

Now, he doesn’t know if it’s even feasible for him to switch appointments around in his schedule or try to create a budget so that he can financially afford to travel to Sarah’s wedding. Plus, he isn’t sure he even wants to make it work.
