She Told Her Teen Son That If His Friend Ends Up Homeless, He Can’t Move In With Them

“I made it clear to him that Brandon was not welcome to stay without our consent,” she said. “I also told Jack it was irresponsible of him to encourage Brandon like that.”

“Jack tried to defend himself and claimed that none of their other friends had space to offer. But my husband pointed out that they probably didn’t want Brandon’s presence causing discomfort in their homes either.”

“He is 100% right, as I think having Brandon around would certainly make the house uncomfortable for our younger children.”

Brandon is clearly not a good influence and not someone they want to have around their impressionable kids.

She and her husband insisted that Jack had to turn around and tell Brandon that they can’t make room for him and he’s going to have to find somewhere else to live if he follows through on his plan of running away.

Instead of understanding where they were coming from, Jack really was mad at them for not being accommodating.

“Jack was quite upset by this and said that we did have space since nobody used the basement most of the time anyway, but when we pressed him, he did agree and said that he’d let Brandon know,” she continued.

“I did feel a bit bad about it since I spoke to Jack in a very direct and harsh tone, but I’m also disappointed that he’d make such an offer.”

She’s left wondering if it was rude of her to tell Jack that no, Brandon is not allowed to move in with them.
