A Homeless Man Called His Wife Dumb While They Were Out Celebrating Their Nine-Year Wedding Anniversary, So His Wife Said He Was A Coward For Not Fighting The Guy Over It

“My wife shot back, [saying] he was just street smart and that she was a lot more book smart than he was,” he recalled.

“I just laughed it off and told him, ‘Yes, you’re a genius. Can I have my phone back?’ He gave it back and ran off, yelling [that] he was going to sell his stolen sodas for free food.”

After that strange interaction, he and his wife moved on and enjoyed the rest of their anniversary celebration.

However, four days later, his wife brought up their interaction with the homeless man and said she was mad he didn’t defend her when the man called her dumb.

His wife told him he was a “coward” for not arguing with the man. He defended himself, saying that he thought the moment was more funny and silly than insulting, and told her he didn’t ‘fight’ the homeless man because he felt that would’ve been unnecessary and risky.

He and his wife ended up getting into a bad argument, with her still believing he should’ve argued with the homeless man.

Should he have stood up for his wife in the moment or was he right to play it safe?
