He was baffled, and when he asked them what they meant, they explained that Stacy told them their breakup was mutual.
According to Stacy’s version of the breakup, they decided to stop dating because they “wanted different things.”
He told his friends the real story of how the breakup unfolded, and eventually, all their friends heard that Stacy broke up with him because he’d cried when he broke his leg. When Stacy found out everyone knew the truth, she was furious and texted him.
She called him a jerk and claimed he destroyed her life, asking why he couldn’t have gone along with the breakup story she’d concocted. Later, some of Stacy’s friends took her side and told him he was a jerk.
