Charlotte says to get the upper hand in these situations, keep your cool, and not fall into a vicious cycle with a ghost to send one specific text. She encourages her viewers to send a breakup text to end the problem before it gets worse.
Charlotte’s example text is rather vague and reminiscent of something you’d send someone you only went on a few dates with, but it gets the job done.
The text reads, “Hey, it’s been awesome getting to know you the last few weeks, but I’m not feeling a romantic connection, so I’m gonna walk away from this. The communication just feels sort of inconsistent, and I think we just don’t really vibe. Hope you find what you’re looking for!”
The text is simple and to the point. Charlotte also advises against using the words “ghosting,” calling them out on their actions or telling them off. You want to make it seem like they’re ghosting you didn’t affect you as much as it may have so that you come out on top.
“No matter how much ghosting hurts, the blow to your ego always sucks,” says Charlotte.
“It’s inevitable. Being the one to send this breakup text mitigates this by taking back the feeling of a loss of control due to ghosting and making you the owner of the decision.”
Additionally, Charlotte hopes that sending this kind of message after ghosting will help her viewers feel more confident to pick themselves up and get back out there.
