Ten years ago, when TikToker Angie (@coolgalag) was 19, she attended Florida State University. She was about to enter her sophomore year and was going to move in with one of her friends, whom she calls Carly.
Her mom, brother, and sister were coming with her to Tallahassee to help her move in. However, they ended up taking a wrong turn on the way there, so they arrived late.
They couldn’t move into her apartment at such a late hour, and they weren’t able to get a hotel room, so they decided to stay with her friend Carly at her parents’ lake house.
The lake house was about 30 or 40 minutes outside of Tallahassee. It was located in a nature reserve, so there were no streetlights around. Her mom was terrified because it all seemed really spooky.
By the time they arrived, it was already 11 p.m., and everyone was exhausted. Carly slept on the first floor, leaving the second floor to Angie and her family.
“My mom, already when we walked in, was kind of very perceptive to the energy and vibe,” Angie said.
“She was already kind of feeling weird. I myself, having stayed there before, just me and her in the pitch black in the middle of nowhere, I always felt safe and comfortable there, and I’m truly scared of my own shadow. But I did not feel safe and comfortable this time around.”
She thought she was just anxious about school starting and being late to move in. She and her siblings each stayed in separate rooms, while her mom ended up sleeping on the couch. Angie was feeling uneasy, so she crept into her sister’s room to snuggle with her.
While she was lying in bed, she looked over at the window and saw a face. She tried to calm down, telling herself it was just her imagination and she was so tired that she was hallucinating.

She hid under the covers and forced herself to go to sleep.
The next morning, they all woke up early. Carly came upstairs to greet everyone. Angie’s mom asked Carly if she was okay because she thought she saw Carly coming up the stairs, passing by her, and going to the kitchen throughout the night.
Carly’s jaw dropped because she had been sound asleep all night. Angie had lived with Carly for a year and knew she was not a sleepwalker.
“My mom was like, no, but I saw you,” Angie recalled. “And Carly’s a small person, like, barely five feet with long hair. And my mom was like, I saw someone with long hair that was walking up the stairs; I saw them at the foot of the stairs, walking to the kitchen and back.”
However, Carly insisted that she was in bed the whole night. They all quickly gathered their stuff and got out of there. After that, Angie only went back to the lake house once the following year.
She was helping Carly pack up her stuff. The second they stepped foot on that land, Angie felt a strong sense of dread.
There was a rumor in Carly’s neighborhood that someone sketchy had moved in who was accused of a certain crime. So, perhaps that had something to do with it.
