When TikToker Brooke (@broomcdo) was 10 or 11 years old, she played with a Ouija board like any curious kid and had a really quick interaction with a spirit that terrified her. The spirit told her that his name was Washington George.

Later on, she joked with her friends that she had talked to George Washington. She actually shares a birthday with George Washington, so she thought it was a weird coincidence.

“The joke continued on throughout the years, and it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I started doing a deep dive on my family’s ancestry and all that,” said Brooke.

“And tell me why I was literally doing research on my mom’s maternal side. Her last name is George, and I came across an ancestor who was named Washington George.”

In that moment, Brooke involuntarily burst into tears because she was just that shocked. It was such a crazy experience for her. She looked into him further and discovered that he apparently went by the nickname Wash.

During his lifetime, he had a reputation for being something of a jokester and prankster.

The idea that this playful ancestor may have been behind the childhood moment only made the story more surreal. Wash also has one surviving grandson who lives just three hours away from her.

She is considering reaching out to him after the holidays in the hopes of having at least a conversation. She is interested in hearing more about Wash from the last existing relative who may have known him.

“So, way to go, Wash,” said Brooke. “You really pulled a good one on me there. It took a little while for that to develop, but something tells me that Wash knew that was going to happen, and he was in it for the long game.”

Brooke’s revelation struck a nerve with people online. Several TikTok users took to the comments section to share their own eerie Ouija board experiences.

“I’ve used a Ouija board many times, and there would always be the same spirits with the same people. Like they came with them. Didn’t matter where you were, all my friends had the same spirits with them all the time,” commented one user.

“We talked to the little girl on Poltergeist who died. It still freaks me out!” exclaimed another.

“When I was a teenager, the board told me that I’d marry a guy named Bob. Hasn’t happened yet…maybe my next marriage?” chimed in someone else.

Brooke’s Ouija board days are long over, and according to a comment, she carries black tourmaline on her person at all times to ward off any negative energy, just in case. But she will never forget her interaction with Wash and was glad it happened.
