I was lucky enough to have some truly incredible bus drivers in my childhood, like Mr. Tony, who was the kindest man to ever step foot on this earth.
Unfortunately, not every little kid has experienced bus drivers like him. Take Alanah, for example, who goes by @alanahryann on TikTok.
Back in elementary school, Alanah went on a bus ride that I can only describe to you as what nightmares are made of after she got on the bus to go home one day and was greeted by a brand-new driver.
All the kids took their seat and the bus was off. But as soon as their bus driver pulled out of the school parking lot, she went the wrong way.
Everyone tried to help her out and give her directions, but the woman didn’t listen to any of them. One kid piped up that maybe she was testing out a new route.
“She proceeds to aimlessly drive around every part of town except where you’re supposed to be going for hours and hours. And then eventually, she somehow makes it to one of the neighborhoods that you drop kids off in, and there is a group of parents waiting to pick up their kids at the bus stop,” Alanah explained in her video.
“And so the bus driver just drives right on past everyone, doesn’t stop, doesn’t even look at them. And so all these parents start sprinting, sprinting at full speed after the school bus.”
“And eventually, for some reason, I guess maybe she noticed that, uh, hey, that was a bus stop, and there is a mob of parents chasing me.”
The bus driver came to a stop, the parents jumped on board, pulled their kids out of their seats, and made their exit. But there were still kids left on the bus, and they were all hours behind schedule.

The bus driver got back on the road and kept on aimlessly driving for more hours on end. She didn’t speak any English, but she could say shut up, so that’s what she did as the kids desperately tried to intervene.
Although the kids were all little, they did know how to get home. There was a glimmer of hope for a moment as one child was able to sort of communicate with her and she went the right way, but that lasted for mere seconds before she resumed her wonky route.
“Kids are peeing their pants, kids are crying and screaming for their parents. People are having nervous breakdowns. And eventually, a cop car chases you down,” Alanah added.
“And so you get pulled over by the cops, and then the bus driver gets escorted off of the bus, and a new bus driver is replaced, and she finally, praise the Lord, takes you home.”
“And every time a kid is getting dropped off, an angry parent storms on the bus, ready to absolutely fight this woman. And she says don’t fight me. We got rid of that crazy lady. We don’t know where she’s going with the kids.”
Alanah did make it home in the end, and never heard another peep about the insane bus driver lady who ruined her day.
Mainly, people in the comments wanted Alanah to call her parents and asked what happened to this woman, but TBD on that! I’ll be sure to update you if we find out more.
“Nah, if I was even 5 minutes late, my mom was on the phone with the bus company lol,” one person remarked.
“I kind of actually have a story similar to this. This crazy bus driver basically did the same thing, but he ended up forcing everyone off the bus, and we (all younger than 10) had to walk home from an unfamiliar location. We never saw that bus driver again after that,” someone else said.
