Old farmhouses usually come with creaky floors and maybe a draft or two. It’s just part of the deal. However, according to TikToker Kandra (@half.finished.home), hers came with a ghost that was bent on making her life miserable.
She lived in a haunted yellow farmhouse in Michigan with her family for five years. Her bedroom was the only one on the main floor of the house. Her parents and her brothers all had rooms on the upper level.
Some creepy stuff occurred while she was alone on the main floor. For instance, she would hear scratching on her door in the middle of the night, or the door handle would start turning. She always kept her dog with her, and sometimes, her dog would growl at the door.
One of her brothers only lived in the house for a year before moving out because he couldn’t take it anymore. Kandra took over his old room.
Unfortunately for her, he never told her exactly what kind of ghostly activity was going on up there, and a lot of bad stuff began happening to her.
“There’s a bathroom back here,” explained Kandra. “This was the really, really bad energy part of the house.”
“Negative, dark. If I were upstairs in the middle of the night and I needed to use the bathroom, no way in heck would I ever set foot in that bathroom. I was running downstairs to use the other bathroom.”
After taking her brother’s old room, stuff began falling off her walls in the middle of the night, startling her awake. She also experienced what felt like someone standing behind her and breathing into her ear. This happened to her other family members as well, in different places and at different times of the day.
There were moments when she woke up with this voice whispering her name in her ear. Then, the visions started. They were much more horrifying than normal dreams.

One time, she had a dream about the haunted bathroom. She looked in the mirror and saw blood dripping out of her eyes. She woke up screaming.
Afterward, she was so scared that she had her little brother drag his mattress over to her room and keep her company every night for two years.
Sometimes, he would accidentally fall asleep after playing video games late at night, and the ghost would take the opportunity to mess with her.
Years later, the memories still linger. Several TikTok users dropped their own stories about hauntings in the comments section.
“My mother-in-law moved around a lot as a child. In 1984, they rented a yellow farmhouse for less than a year and ended up fleeing in the middle of the night because of things like you describe,” commented one user.
“I believe you! We lived in a house that had a spirit. Ours wasn’t so mean-spirited, though. Just wandered at times. You could feel its presence and the cold. Our dog always felt it and would bark at it,” stated another.
“I lived in a house with my mom and siblings, and the house was haunted. It was a five-bedroom house, and only two rooms were used. Me and my sister, and also my brother, would drag our mattresses out into the living room every night and sleep there. I woke up with actual scratches on my thighs. It burned like a razor cut, but they weren’t cuts,” shared a third.
