In October 2023, an incident led to the downfall of TikToker Paige’s (@paigeyybee) marriage. Sometimes, the truth arrives when you least expect it, such as during the middle of what was supposed to be a happy occasion.

So, she and her husband were in Mexico to celebrate a friend’s wedding. Like many wedding guests, they spent the evening drinking and enjoying themselves before eventually returning to their hotel room to call it a night.

Before going to sleep, Paige asked her husband to reach out to their dog sitter to check on their pets. He told her that he had already reached out. Later, while he was sleeping, she picked up his phone to see if the dog sitter had responded.

When she did that, she came across suspicious messages from someone named M. She immediately realized this wasn’t a casual friendship.

Of course, Paige couldn’t help herself. She opened up the chat and found a long string of messages that stretched as far back as eight months.

“It was very much like two people basically in a relationship, the way that they would speak to each other,” said Paige. “And I could not believe it. Like, he was sending her pictures of our hotel room in Mexico.”

Paige confronted her husband. Instead of expressing remorse, he became angry and yelled at her for going through his phone. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the first time something like this had happened.

Every time Paige has gone through his phone, she has found inappropriate messages between him and someone on the internet. Previous incidents involved messages with other women that crossed boundaries, but nothing had ever reached this level.

She asked him if he was going to keep talking to this woman, and he told her that he probably would. Paige tried to let it go and make the relationship work because she had already invested so much time into the relationship.

At that point, they had been married for three and a half years and together for nine. Walking away from over a decade of shared history wasn’t something she was ready to do overnight.

However, Paige could not ignore her instincts. She had no choice but to dig deeper. She went through more of his messages and found more women he had been talking to. It was a much larger pattern of behavior than she had originally thought.

Looking back, Paige feels that the Mexico trip marked the beginning of the end of her marriage. Her husband was unwilling to rebuild trust or end the online affairs with other women.

Overall, the experience became a difficult lesson about self-worth and knowing when a relationship has reached a point where it can no longer be saved.
