It’s pretty rare, I think, to catch someone cheating on their literal wedding day, but what would you do if your best friend was about to marry someone who was clearly doing that?
This 24-year-old woman has a 26-year-old childhood best friend, Coco, and they grew up in the same neighborhood. They ended up going to the same exact college, and that’s where Coco met her now-husband, 26-year-old John.
She and Coco have been glued to the hip, but that all changed on Coco’s wedding day. She was asked to be Coco’s Maid of Honor, and initially, the big day was off to a great start.
As everyone in the bridal party was getting their makeup done at Coco’s house, she got up to use the bathroom, and John had just walked out of there.
She entered the bathroom and noticed that John had forgotten his phone on the sink. She picked his phone up and was going to hand it back to him.
But as she grasped the phone in her hand, she noticed he had Tinder open!
She was puzzled and thought that maybe he hadn’t deleted it for some reason after meeting Coco, but it did make her feel suspicious, because why would John have that app open on his wedding day?
“That’s when I get the brilliant idea of doing a bit of detective work. I open the chat section of Tinder and see that that scum of a man was messaging women over a prolonged period of time, and the most recent conversation was happening while he was in the bathroom,” she explained.
“So I’m standing there and thinking…I have to tell Coco about this. So I put the phone back on the sink so that John doesn’t suspect that I found anything out (he is known to get aggressive when confronted, and I had to ensure my safety) and go to tell my friend.”

“Her reaction wasn’t what I was expecting…She told me that I’m lying and the photos I have taken of John’s phone screen are clearly edited. She then proceeded to accuse me of trying to steal her man (as if anyone would want that piece of [junk]).”
Coco proceeded to uninvite her from the wedding, kick her out of the bridal party, and say she better get lost before they all were ready to go to the ceremony.
She did leave, hoping space would help Coco come to terms with what John did. She’s left wondering what she should do because Coco is her best friend, and she values their bond.
It’s sad to me that Coco is not ready to face the music and come to terms with John being a cheater, because that’s exactly what this man is.
She did a selfless thing, alerting Coco to her husband being no good for her, and unfortunately, since Coco isn’t willing to listen, their friendship very well could be over.
But at least she can go to sleep at night knowing she did the right thing, regardless of Coco not being appreciative of her sticking up for her.
What advice do you have for her?
