In September 2024, TikToker Jenna Callarman (@jennacallarman) met a guy on a dating app, and they talked for about a month before hanging out on the first weekend of November.
His location was set to Miami, but he lived in New York. Of course, Jenna lives in Miami, so the relationship started off as long-distance.
They quickly developed feelings for each other and began hanging out almost every weekend. She would go up to New York and stay in hotels, while he came down to Miami to stay with her.
“Then, we ended up getting official in, I believe, January,” said Jenna. “I was in Boston for work, and he had met me over there and had told me he loved me. Like, all things were perfect besides the fact that he didn’t have social media.”
Eventually, she learned that he was living a double life and lying to her about nearly everything. She was 23 years old at the time, and he was 30. He worked in finance and investment banking and had graduated from Ohio State University.
Looking back, there were a few red flags that stood out to her. He kept his life pretty private, never introducing her to his friends or parents.
He would invite her up to New York all the time, but something always came up at the last minute that would prevent her from staying at his place.
“One weekend, I was up there for New York Fashion Week with the girls,” Jenna explained. “I was going to stay at his house the night before and just spend time, get dinner, but he was visiting his family in Boston and told me that his mom fell, and he was staying in Boston that night, so he couldn’t come back, and he had to take the 5 a.m. train. So, little things like that.”
She never thought much about it because she was able to do her own thing. This past summer, she went on vacation to Lebanon with her best friend and made plans to travel with her boyfriend.

He never wanted to travel and always made excuses as to why it wouldn’t work out. While she was in Lebanon, he accused her of doing things she wasn’t supposed to be doing.
For the last couple of months, he started staying with her for two to three weeks at a time. She got the feeling that something was off and thought he might be hiding something.
One day, she went to play pickleball with her friends. Meanwhile, he spent two hours at the golf simulator, and she knew there was no way he was golfing for that long.
When she returned, he still wasn’t back. She looked through the cameras she had set up for her dog and heard him telling someone on the phone that he would not be back for three weeks.
Then, on the camera, she spotted his phone screen, and it looked like he was scrolling through social media, which he had claimed not to have.
Once he returned, she asked him if there was anything he wanted to tell her, but he did not take the opportunity to come clean.
Later, Jenna showed the footage to the girls at work, who were her close friends. They suggested that she try searching him up. An address popped up for him that wasn’t the one he had given her.
There was also a list of possible relatives and connections. The first two names that came up were girl names, so Jenna looked them up to see if one of them was his ex. She ended up finding all the receipts and messages from the past year.
“First thing I find out is that he literally signed a lease after we were already official with his other girlfriend in the same place, and that was the one-bed they were living in,” said Jenna.
Everything started adding up. Jenna had to text his other girlfriend to let her know about his double life. She was just as shocked as Jenna and had also been having suspicions.
Jenna needed to find a way to confront him. So, she set up her laptop to show his other girlfriend’s social media page. That way, he would see it immediately upon getting home.
When he returned, he started acting all oblivious. She went off on him, pointing out that he was mooching off her lifestyle, because it turned out that he was actually broke.
He took no action to apologize or make amends except for saying sorry about a thousand times. She let him stay at her place until he was able to book a flight back home. He disappeared while she was out and never answered her texts. So, she has no idea where he is right now.
Every single day, she keeps finding out new stuff about him, and none of it is good. Ultimately, Jenna hopes he gets the help he needs and that no other girl has to go through this kind of situation with him.
