Recently, TikToker Nick Evans (@fuzz.evans) walked out in the middle of a first date because the girl kept acting weird over the fact that he was vegan.
So, he matched with a girl on a dating app, and they started chatting. It was flirtatious at first, but within three messages, she declared out of nowhere that she would never become vegan. Nick is vegan and listed this in his dating profile.
Still, she seemed adamant about meeting up and even suggested that they go to a vegan restaurant. They decided to meet at 5 p.m. He had somewhere to be at 8 p.m., which gave them about three hours to get to know each other.
When he got to the restaurant, he texted her to let her know. She lived just a couple of minutes away from the restaurant and invited him to come to her place since it was such a short walk.
Nick was confused about why she wasn’t following the plan they had agreed on.
Finally, she walked over, and they sat down to order. Before they ordered anything, she quickly told him again that she would never go vegan. Then, she wanted to show him some vegan foods she had baked.
“Now, I’m confused, so I was like, but if you bake vegan, presumably you eat some vegan food,” said Nick. “Plus, you recommended this restaurant.”
She clarified that she loved baking vegan food for her friends. She showed him two cakes. One was made with eggs, and the other did not contain any eggs.
She told him that the cake with no eggs wasn’t as fluffy, but it still tasted fine. It seemed like she was trying to point out problems with being vegan by comparing these cakes.

He ended up ordering a burrito to go because she really wanted him to come over to her place. She asked him 10 times in 30 minutes.
He quickly devoured the burrito, wanting to get out of there so he wouldn’t have to go to this girl’s house. The alarm bells were going off in his head.
She started talking about how vegans can’t be strong because of their diets. At this point, it had been an hour into the date. She invited him over yet again, saying that she had a bunch of vegan stuff in her freezer.
Finally, he left the date early because of how strange she was behaving.
In the comments section, many TikTok users shared their thoughts on the situation and their own experiences of dating while being vegan.
“I think she was going to try and feed you some vegan dessert and then tell you afterward that it really had eggs and then laugh evilly,” commented one user.
“As a former vegan and current vegetarian also on dating apps, I’m always shocked at how many people consider my choice of diet a dealbreaker,” stated another.
“As a former vegan, I get it. My last boyfriend hated it and tried to make me eat what he wanted and would obsess, yet I never asked him to cook for me or even worry about it,” added someone else.
