3D camcorders have been slow to roll out onto store shelves, and when they do finally show up, they’re expensive. Fortunately, it looks like that is about to change with Vivitar’s DVR 790HD 3D Digital Video Recorder. That is because Vivitar has a reputation for producing affordable, budget-friendly cameras. The upcoming DVR 790HD features a 5.1 megapixel resolution, a 4x digital zoom, a 2.7″ LCD, HDMI out, anti shake, and it can record in up to 720p at 25fps. The camcorder will also be available in several colors like black, red, blue, pink, and orange.
There is no word on pricing yet for the Vivitar DVR 790HD, but chances are that this will be much more affordable than Sony’s $1500 HDR-TD10 3D camcorder. That said, we’re pretty sure that Sony’s 3D offering will produce better quality videos. Plus it has a 3.5″ glass free LCD display for video previews, which is way cooler than the Vivitar DVR 790HD’s regular old preview LCD.
