She waited as Alice wrapped up all of her requirements, and then replied that she could do everything except the first thing that Alice wanted.
“My mom loves my hair and helped me grow them thick and healthy,” this teen said. “I got my blonde wavy hair from my mom so I will keep it long.”
“Alice accused me of wanting to upstage her. I said that’s not what I’m trying to do and I think it’s unfair since I know she didn’t make these demands on her other female guests.”
“She then called me a selfish brat and told me she’ll tell my dad about how I “disrespected her”.”
Then, her dad got in the middle of things and insisted she should cut her lower-back length hair like Alice wants, since it can grow back in.
This teen stood up for herself and made it clear to her dad that she would prefer to not go to the wedding so she can keep her hair just the way that it is.
She now feels that maybe it wasn’t fair to her dad and is wondering if just cutting her hair might be the best thing to do in the end because if she doesn’t go to the wedding it will hurt her dad.
How would you handle this?
