“When he said no, my mother’s face scrunched up and she asked Jake, verbatim, “Why are you with my baby girl? Don’t you think you should be with someone your own age? Cradle robbers disgust me, you have no respect for your partners or their parents.”
Not only was she unsure of what to tell her mom; Jake was speechless too. She and Jake didn’t even get a chance to find any words, because then her mom freaked out and said Jake is just a manipulative man.
Her dad just sat there, shocked at what was happening. Her dad then attempted to get her mom to stop hurling insults at Jake and going crazy, but it backfired.
Her mom got more riled up, and she had to tell her mom to leave or she would be forced to call 911.
Her mom and dad did leave, but moments after, her mom was sending her and Jake insane texts. She had to block her mom, and the following day, her dad wanted to know why she did that.
“I told him her behavior was inexcusable and that she was uninvited to my wedding,” she said. “I also said she’s not allowed in my house or in my life until she apologizes to us.”
Her dad didn’t accept that at all and tried to back up her mom’s behavior. Her dad did say it was too mean of her to uninvite them from the wedding.
Jake is left feeling terrible and like this is somehow all of his fault.
“I did ask my father why my mother called my fiancé a cradle robber over a four-year age difference,” she continued.
“He replied, “It’s inappropriate for a woman to be dating a man who began preschool before she was even born.”
Yeah, I’m having a hard time understanding how a 4 year age difference makes Jake a cradle robber here but ok.
