She Forced Her Daughter To Share Her Birthday Presents With Her Stepdaughter, And Now Her Daughter Feels That She Forces Her To Share Everything
A 40-year-old mom used to be a single mom to her 15-year-old daughter Amy until she got married last year to her wife named Jenna.
Her wife already had a 13-year-old daughter named Nora from a previous relationship, so now she, Jenna, and the girls all live together under one roof.
It was difficult for her daughter Amy to get used to the idea of having two moms, but now Amy gets along decently with Jenna.
As for how Amy and Nora get along, though, that’s a whole other story.
Amy and Nora’s were born 2 days away from each other, so she figured it would be a great idea to have 1 birthday party for the 2 of them.
Nora has had a difficult time making friends after moving into their house, and she wanted to make sure that Nora would have a great birthday too.
Since her family does not live in the same country that they do, they shipped their birthday gifts for the girls, and they got there a week in advance of the party.
The birthday gifts her family had mailed contained a minimum of 20 gifts, and everything was pretty over the top.
They waited until the evening of Amy and Nora’s birthday party to open everything up after the partygoers had gone home, and Jenna was the one who passed the presents out to the girls.

“After 12 gifts in a row just for Amy, I checked the bag and froze to see that there was only one gift for Nora from my parents,” she explained.
“She pretended it wasn’t a big deal, but as she opened the present, I saw her eyes drop. It was a $15 tumbler from Walmart.”
“Not to sound ungrateful, but Amy’s gifts were much more expensive (lots of gift cards over $100, a new phone, limited-edition Funkos, designer clothes, and lots of cards wishing her a happy birthday).”
“Needless to say, I blew up the family chat, calling out my parents, siblings, and extended family who sent gifts for not considering Nora and my parents for the cheap gift.”
Her family was unhappy with her for making a scene about the presents, and they felt that it wasn’t on them to buy Nora presents.
They also were displeased with the fact that she threw the girls a joint birthday party, and they felt Amy did deserve her own party dedicated to only her.
In the aftermath of the present opening, she could see that Nora was upset that her own family excluded her.
Later on that evening, she told Amy she needed to share a few of her presents with Nora, and she picked out the clothes as well as the gift cards for her to give to her stepsister.
Amy told her that she didn’t want to share with Nora, and she was shocked, as Amy usually is a great sharer.
“After asking why, Amy started crying, saying that she never wanted a joint birthday party and that I force her to share everything with Nora,” she said.
“They share a room for space, and I make sure they’re both invited to the same parties and sleepovers so that Nora won’t be left out. If they don’t invite both of them, then either of them goes.”
“Amy stated that she at least wanted her own gifts to be hers alone. I scolded her for being selfish with her stepsister, grounded her, and took a couple of the presents to give to Nora.”
Nora would not accept the gifts, as she was so concerned about causing issues with Amy. Nora also felt terrible for being pitied.
“Since then, Amy has been cold to all of us,” she continued. “I just wanted my two girls to be closer with the joint party and have the same things.”
Do you think it was wrong of this mom to force Amy to share her birthday gifts with Nora?
