Unfortunately, though, her sister did not take the news well. Instead, her sister actually freaked out, called her rude names, and accused her of being a terrible sister for not taking into account her “dietary needs.”
And to be honest, she admits that her hormones were at an all-time high, and her sister’s comments really set off her anger. So, she ended up kind of telling her sister off.
“I messaged my sister back, saying that her new diet wasn’t my problem and that she should accept the food she already advised me to buy for her,” she vented.
After that, her sister ultimately just did not attend the party at all– which really upset her since she and her sister have always been super close.
Plus, since reflecting on how she spoke to her sister, she feels like she was pretty rude and honestly feels terrible about how everything went down. So now, she has been left wondering if telling her sister that her diet was not her problem was really a jerky thing to do.
Do you think not wanting to spend even more money on dietary alternatives was a reasonable concern? If her sister previously approved a bunch of other items and then changed diets, should her sister be responsible for bringing new food options to the party or not? If you had been in her shoes, would you have also gotten angry at your sister?
