“I told her I had never seen her as my parent and had never considered myself her child,” he explained. Yikes.
Still, Gemma tried to guilt trip him. She wound up ending the call by saying that his father would have been really disappointed in him. Gemma also claimed his father would have wanted him to live with her and his half-sisters and would have hated seeing him decide to live with extended family.
Then, he just told Gemma he had no regrets about going with what he wanted to do, and he got accused of being cruel because of it.
Despite that, though, the call with his stepmom has still been weighing heavy on his mind. He honestly does not want to stay with Gemma and believes he is entitled to his own feelings.
But, at the same time, he has been left wondering whether telling Gemma that he did not want to stay with her and his half-siblings was a jerky thing to do or not.
Why do you think Gemma keeps trying to force a relationship after all of these years? Do you believe he has a right to choose where he stays while his grandparents are in the hospital? If you had been in his shoes, would you have done the same thing?
