Her Mom Got Into An Altercation On The Street With A Woman Who Had The Same Name As Her Future Daughter, So Now Her Mom Wants Her To Change Her Baby’s Name, And She’s Refusing
This twenty-six-year-old woman and her husband, who is thirty, currently have a son together, who is two years old.
And when her son was born, she chose his name entirely on her own. Then, her husband agreed and gave his stamp of approval.
So, now that she is pregnant again, she promised her husband that she would let him take priority in naming their second child this time.
Since finding out that they were expecting, though, her husband had mostly been thinking of boy names.
That meant that after they found out she was actually having a girl recently, her husband was forced to start from scratch and come up with all new names.
Eventually, though, he did propose one name he liked– Beverly, based on the little girl character from “It.”
Apparently, her husband is a massive Stephen King fan, so that is where he got the name inspiration.
She does not really enjoy reading books, though, and honestly does not remember much about the movie rendition.
Nonetheless, she did like the idea of the name Beverly.

“It has a classical and distinguished vibe that I like very much,” she revealed.
So, after taking some time to think the name choice over, she eventually said yes, and that was that. She also got to choose her baby girl’s middle name, Ida, in honor of her mother.
Just the other day, though, her forty-nine-year-old mother got into a scuffle on the street that is now threatening her daughter’s name choice.
It all began when her mother, Ida, was walking down the street and saw a young woman wearing a pair of shorts.
However, her mom apparently thought that the young woman was showing too much of her behind.
So, Ida decided to approach the woman and share that opinion in case the woman “had not noticed.”
If you could not have guessed, though, the young woman just got offended by her mother’s input, and a massive argument ensued.
In fact, both Ida and the woman began screaming and insulting each other for so long that a police officer actually had to intervene.
And once the authorities showed up, an officer wanted to take both her mother’s and the woman’s names. Lo and behold, that young woman’s name was apparently Beverley.
So now, after getting into that scuffle, her mom believes that she cannot use the name anymore for her baby girl– because apparently, her mom claims that she will always remember that “rude” woman and that the association will damage the relationship between her daughter and her mom. Yikes!
She, on the other hand, thinks that her mom is just acting plain ridiculous and that an altercation like that is no reason to change her daughter’s name.
Ever since telling her mom that, though, Ida has been pissed. In fact, her mom will not stop ignoring her now!
Thankfully, her sister has since tried to calm their mother down and get Ida to see the situation from a different perspective. Despite that, though, her mom apparently feels “betrayed.”
“She has always been very dramatic. And I am sure she will let this go eventually, but I would have preferred to avoid all of this interpersonal conflict while I am eight months pregnant,” she vented.
Mostly everyone in her family is on her side, too, which is a plus. The fact that her mom is still so disturbed by the name has forced her to reassess the situation entirely, though.
So now, she has been left wondering if refusing to change her daughter’s name because of her mom’s altercation makes her a jerk or not.
Why do you think her mom felt the need to approach that woman on the street in the first place? If your mom did that, then asked you to change your baby’s name over it, would you be upset, too? Or would you change the name just to appease your mother?
