Everything concerning his girlfriend’s “health issues” started to make sense, too. For instance, her “fall at work” was really just the time she went to the hospital for her miscarriage.
He realized he was completely oblivious to the lies, though, and never suspected that she was capable of hiding such a huge truth from him.
Still, he tried to look past everything for the sake of moving forward. But that was until a couple of days ago when he called his girlfriend to say goodnight and was greeted by another man on the phone.
He immediately knew who the guy was, and it turned out that during his girlfriend’s pregnancy, she had given the guy a key to her house. Mind you, this is the same new house that he still has never been inside!
Regardless, this other guy has apparently been going over to his girlfriend’s house and freaking out on her for talking to him. He also learned the other man had been laying his hands on his girlfriend– even gripping her to the point of creating bruises.
So, he was immediately concerned for her safety and tried to get his girlfriend to stay at her mother’s house. She just refused, though, and kept insisting that her safety was not at risk.
This pushed the pair to get into a huge argument, and now, he is feeling utterly exhausted. He is sick of worrying about his girlfriend even after she betrayed him so severely.
His girlfriend did start crying over the whole situation and admitted how much she regretted the entire domino effect. While he believes she is regretful, though, he just cannot get over how everything has played out.
“I can’t stop asking myself, ‘How did I get here?’ I don’t think there’s anything salvaging this, but I can’t seem to let go,” he vented.
So now, he’s been left wondering how to move forward.
