“I still get hit on a lot at bars, so I thought I was still attractive enough, but after conversations, he confirmed again that he doesn’t feel that attracted and said I should “do what he says because clearly what I’m doing isn’t working.”
Her boyfriend then tried to persuade her to hire his friend as her personal trainer, but she didn’t feel ok with that arrangement at all.
Her boyfriend’s friend is a big guy, and into bodybuilding, so she would feel far too timid to work out with him.
She attempted to inform her boyfriend that she’s doing her best to lose the weight, but she’s struggling.
“I tried to tell him that I am trying, but that I’m just depressed for the above reasons and just wished he could compliment me and make me feel beautiful as I am,” she continued.
“He basically admitted he didn’t want to because he felt it would encourage me to stay this way and that he genuinely prefers fitter body types.”
“At this point, I feel so broken. I know I want to lose weight; I know I was more attractive then, but I feel like his love is too conditional. Like if I lose it for him, ill resent him. And if I don’t lose it, I’ll never let him touch me again based on how unloving he’s been about it.”
Do you think she should ditch her boyfriend instead of the weight and find someone who really values her no matter what?
