He went with her to a framing shop to get an estimate on how much it would cost. They found out that getting the painting in a standard frame would cost about $246, and a different shop estimated a very similar price.
“Sarah liked the frame, but I refuse to pay more than it cost her to buy the painting to have it framed,” he said.
“It’s a nice painting, but no.”
He refused to get the painting framed, even though he said he could afford it. He simply doesn’t think it should cost that much, so he refuses to have it done for Sarah. She was very upset, and he told her she could use some string and a nail “like everyone else.”
Sarah’s been acting distant from him ever since.
