Dan proceeded to inform her that he and his ex-wife were actually still technically married since they had been in a divorce battle for the past two years.
“The whole thing is a little suspicious,” she admitted. “But I believed him. Like 70% of me did.”
Dan kept going, too, and told her that he could not get involved in any serious relationships since that information could hurt him in the divorce if it ever came out in the courtroom.
Anyway, it appears that she accepted Dan’s whole story after a while, and they continued seeing each other. And eventually, it came time that they wanted to hook up.
She lives with her dad, though, which could make for a seriously awkward situation. That’s why she wound up asking Dan if they could just go to his place. After all, Dan only ever had his daughter on the weekends and for one night each week.
But yet again, Dan had more elaborate excuses. This time, he actually tried to say that his ex-wife had cameras installed at his house and still had access to the video footage on her phone.
Still, she opted to believe him and just made plans to make sure her dad was not home. Then, Dan wound up going over to her house for some alone time.
This particular hangout occurred in the afternoon, though, meaning that Dan had to lie in order to get out of work. Plus, once they were finished spending time together, Dan actually had to go back to the office.
That’s when he wound up accidentally leaving his work ID at her house. And upon finding it, she realized that he actually had a different last name listed with his employer.
Obviously, that was offputting, and she decided to question Dan about the discrepancy. But, surprise, surprise, he offered up another story.
“He hinted that it had something to do with him being a foreigner. And I grilled him later with questions, and he answered them, but I was not satisfied at first,” she explained.
