On top of that, her best friend has been acting like she’s the one who somehow owes her. And, if she looks back on their friendship, her best friend has always been selfish. Her best friend has never been supportive of her at all.
She has since put serious space between her and her best friend, and she’s left feeling hurt and furious.
“I wish I never knew her so I didn’t have to grieve our sisterhood,” she said. “I wish she loved me like I always loved her. She was my sister.”
“…At this point, I forgive my ex and wish him peace since he owned up to everything and takes responsibility. My ex-BFF has not, though.”
She’s hoping that by putting some distance between her and her best friend, eventually, her best friend will realize the error of her ways and “see the consequences.”
She is currently engaged to a new man who doesn’t quite get why she never cut her best friend out of her life as soon as she found out about the affair. It honestly was too difficult for her at that time to eliminate her best friend along with her marriage.
Do you have any advice for her?
